The jazz world has held its breath in anticipation for too long awaiting the release of TOM GAVORNIK's latest records. ACCELERATION was well worth waiting for a 2 disc CD set that displays Tom's usual gifted guitar virtuosity on disc#1 and a tribute to such music legends as Cream, The Beatles, and Eric Clapton (to name just a few) on disc#2. The only complaint anyone could have is, Mr. Gavonik, why did you make us wait so long?

The new release, "Soul Cry", is the best thing we've received for a while. Tom Gavornik is an exceptional artist. Eclectic is the word. I can't be- lieve he has Harry Leahey on this project. Leahey used to play a Sam Koontz guitar (like Pat Martino) and I think studied with Dennis Sandole (like Pat) in Philly. This disc "Soul Cry" will get 3-4 spins a week here on 100,000 watt KUMD in Duluth, MN.

"The music is fascinating and the guitar playing is brilliant. In fact, the talent of all three musicians is indisputable. The CD set is a voyage you'll want to repeat on a regular basis. The compositions, though innovative and modern, aren't over-the-head or too extravagant; they're listenable and memorable. Tom Gavornik is, without a doubt, a guitarist for the twenty-first century. Soul Cry is proof of it."

Tom Gavornik's review on Smother.net:
"After listening to the double-disc "Soul Cry" it won't be much of a surprise to learn that Tom Gavornik has been a jazz guitarist/composer, teacher, and producer for over forty years. Indeed the album is extraordinarily polished with long jazz free-form sessions put to tape. Aficionados take note; this is a jazz album that you absolutely must own."
